Family-Owned and Operated
Lewis Hewitt began Hewitt Farm Supply in 1973. He wanted to create a local hardware store in Big Sandy so farmers, ranchers, and homeowners didn’t have to drive all the way to Tyler to find what they needed.
Hewitt Farm Supply has been providing Big Sandy and the surrounding area with tools, building materials, and more ever since.
Eventually, Lewis brought his son Scott into the business. Scott Hewitt began to expand Hewitt Farm Supply’s offerings to include fencing supplies and products oilfield workers would need for erosion control, like culverts and cattle guards.
Connor Hewitt, a third generation of Hewitts, is now running the store, and we still offer the same high-quality products at great prices.

Over the years, Hewitt Farm Supply has expanded its offerings and become Big Sandy’s one-stop-shop for tools, fencing materials, plumbing supplies, feed & seed, and more.
In addition to tools and hardware, we have a full-service lumberyard that offers dimensional lumber in a variety of sizes. We also offer farm and ranch supply and have the largest selection of wire and barbed wire fencing in East Texas.
